About the Agency

We are the administrative authority for:

  • Cybersecurity;
  • The protection of classified information in information and communication systems;
  • Cryptographic protection;
  • The publicly regulated administration of the Galileo navigation system (PRS).

This means that:

  • We have highly-skilled specialists in the field of cybersecurity and cryptographic protection;
  • We operate the government security team, the so-called Government CERT of the Czech Republic (GovCERT.CZ);
  • We work with other CERT and CSIRT security teams both in the Czech Republic and abroad;
  • We prepare national security standards in the field of cybersecurity;
  • We set security standards for information systems that are important for the operation of the state (so-called critical information infrastructure);
  • We set the protection of classified information in the field of information and communication systems;
  • We perform the function of the Competent PRS Authority whose main task is to administer the PRS service of the Galileo navigation system in the Czech Republic;
  • We provide security management for the operation of the PRS service of the Galileo navigation system in the Czech Republic;
  • We prepare and coordinate cyber exercises both in the Czech Republic and abroad;
  • We create and defend the Czech Republic's positions in the field of cybersecurity;
  • We prepare laws and sub-legal standards in the field of cybersecurity;
  • We set national cybersecurity strategies;
  • We enhance and support cybersecurity education;
  • We foster our own research and development;
  • We work with encryption;
  • We also perform other significant and fascinating tasks to improve information and cybersecurity in the Czech Republic.
